Among many toys manufactured by “Mehanotehnika”, the “Children’s Dream Factory” from Izola, Slovenia, was the piece “Pioneer Electrical Engineer”. Through play and fun, it introduced children to the world of science and technology. With the parts of this smart toy, a child was able to independently perform about 60 electrical experiments and assemble almost all devices that have to do with electricity – from Morse Telegraph to electric heater.

“Mehanotehnika” was the only Yugoslav factory specialized in toy production. Their toys were enjoyed by children of all ages, and were also popular with adults. In order to create toys that contribute to the technical upbringing of the modern child, “Mehanotehnika” collaborated with psychologists, educators, engineers, artists, as well as numerous scientific institutions, schools and community organizations. The Institute for School Equipment from Zagreb also took part in making the Pioneer electrical engineer.
