From April 6, the Museum of Yugoslavia, in the scope of the current online program called #OSTANIUMUZEYU, will run a mini project #YUDOM, which invites the audience to find Yugoslav heritage in their homes and join in the creating of a participatory virtual exhibition.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that every one of us these days, while cleaning their house, found a couple of items dating from the Yugoslav period. A tin box of C coffee<\/em> with food seasoning, a white cup with a blue border, an Iskra\u2019s<\/em> phone, badges from grandfather\u2019s former company, mum\u2019s espadrilles purchased in Trieste.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea is very simple \u2013 we invite everyone who wishes to join this emerging virtual exhibition to capture those objects with their cameras, share their photos on social networks using #YUDOM, and tag the Museum of Yugoslavia (Facebook: MuzejJugoslavijeBeograd, Instagram: muzej_jugoslavije),\u201d invites the Museum of Yugoslavia.<\/p>\n

The curators\u2019 team of the Museum of Yugoslavia will contribute to the action by presenting photographs of the items that belonged to the Yugoslav everyday life, and now are parts of the museum collection.<\/p>\n

Many of the selected everyday objects are internationally recognized, such as the award-winning Davor Savnik\u2019s design of the phone ETA for Iskra<\/em> factory, which has even been included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.<\/p>\n

People from the Museum of Yugoslavia explain the idea of \u200b\u200bthe project, \u201cWe foster a participatory approach to complementing the collection and that is the methodology we strive to apply to almost every exhibition. Bearing in mind that the Yugoslav legacy is still present in everyday life, we invite the community to give curatorial work a try and to become a part of the team that realizes this virtual exhibition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Part of the items chosen by the curators of the Museum of Yugoslavia for #YUDOM are not exhibited in the permanent exhibition and the audience will have the opportunity to see them for the first time in a virtual environment in the framework of this project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
