International Museum Day at the Museum of Yugoslavia – May 18
Join us on Sunday, May 18, as we mark International Museum Day with a diverse program for audiences of all ages.
At 12 PM in the Sculpture Park, a creative workshop “When Sculptures Come to Life” will be held for our youngest visitors. Through play and imagination, children will explore the shapes, stories, and meanings behind the artworks from the museum’s collection. Participation is free, and no registration is required.
At 1 PM, the Museum of Yugoslavia will host a themed guided tour through the exhibition “Comrade Tito is Dead”, with a special focus on Youth Day. The tour will be led by curator Biljana Crvenković.
This guided tour marks the beginning of our annual program dedicated to May 25 – a date that, in socialist Yugoslavia, symbolized youth unity and respect for Josip Broz Tito. The museum is dedicating its entire summer program to young people, celebrating contemporary youth culture and creativity, while also critically revisiting youth policies and practices in the SFRY and exploring the meaning and potential of a holiday devoted to youth.
In addition, as every Sunday, visitors can join our regular guided tours:
▶️ in English at 11 AM
▶️ in Serbian at 12 PM – covering the entire museum complex.
