Branko Ćopić on Film in the Yugoslav Cinematheque
Inspired by the exhibition “Hedgehog’s Home – Inventing a Better World”, which is currently displayed at the Museum of Yugoslavia, the Yugoslav Cinematheque has prepared a film program dedicated to Branko Ćopić. The films will be shown in 11 Kosovska Street from April 11 to 13. The program consists of feature films based on the author’s works, such as “Eagles fly early” (1966) directed by Soja Jovanović, “Nikoletina Bursać” (1964) by Branko Bauer, “Silent Gunpowder” (1990) by Bata Čengić, but also a short documentary film “Grave in the Wheat” (1951) based on the script by Branko Ćopić, directed by Purisa Đorđević.
Visitors of the Cinematheque can see the exhibition at the Museum of Yugoslavia with the same tickets. Also, all visitors of the exhibition, can use their tickets and watch the films about Ćopić in 11 Kosovska Street for free. Thus, a synergy is being created between the film art and the museum experience, and the visitors are encouraged to explore the world of Ćopić’s creativity and complement the exhibition experience with the motion pictures.
